11/14/02  Reporting on SE Dallas Hookers

It seems like the issue of sex clubs and hookers reaches out far beyond the City's "designated" area of servicing perverts in the Northwest area of town.  Why, it stretches all the way from the northwest to the southeast and  everywhere in between the loop.  And all with varying degrees of sleaze.

Take for example, the lovely "Faces" at I-30 and Dolphin- this is the same club that shares a billboard on Samuell with Eastern Hills Motel.....hmmm.

I went to high school in Garland and I still keep in touch with a few of my old high school friends.  One of my closest old friends from high school told me that the only reason he ever goes into Dallas is to go get a $10 service job at Faces.  And he's married with kids!  You can imagine how close we still are.  So, yeah, I know what goes on in that sleaze-bag "club" and around it.

There is a Texaco gas station across the street from Faces/Eastern Hills Motel.  I stopped there with a female friend one afternoon last year.  Sure, she may have been wearing a baseball cap, but she is very obviously endowed as a female.  When she got propositioned by a hooker and my friend responded with a "no thank you, besides I'm a woman, and by-the-way, do I really look that desperate?".  This nice lady, wearing shorts so short I thought they were bathing suit bottoms, flip flops on her feet, hardly a tube top around her torso and with a "picket fences" smile (weighing in at 90lbs), shot back with, "that's okay, baby, I don't discriminate," it gave me a very clear picture of the phrase "crack ho".  And her pimp was standing right next to her, gold teeth, gold rings, gold watch, gold rims, you name it, if he could have a suit made of gold, he would have been wearing it.

You can sit at Tennison Golf Course and watch them all at the Red Tag liquor store, hanging out at the bus stop until a police car goes by- then they all run into the liquor store and pretend to be shopping.  Great tourist attraction, that golf course.  I can see the City's ad campaign now: "Great golf AND a round of hide-and-seek whores!"

Then came a more personal encounter, closer to home, a couple of months ago at our quaint little neighborhood park known as Parkdale Park, two blocks from my home and closer to many homes with families and children.  It was a Friday night, I was working late, had a few meetings, and was finally on my way home from work at about 9PM, just after dark.  I decided to pull into the parking lot at Parkdale Park to check on the status of the improvement construction project.  There were four other cars in the lot, but this night, I wasn't focused on what those other vehicles were doing there.  I parked a few slots away from a truck.

Fiddling with my cell phone and two-way radio, trying to find my flashlight, I heard a voice: "Hey."  I looked, didn't see anyone, continued with my search.  Then, I heard it again: "Hey, what are you doing?"  I looked over to the nearest vehicle- the truck- and two guys were drinking.  I said, "What do you mean what am I doing?  What are YOU doing?"  The driver said, "You know.....gettin' drunk, gettin' high, lookin' for some action."  I'd just left from work and was still in a suit!  I said, "Well you better look somewhere else because I'm not giving any action, you're in my park drinking, and you don't belong here.  In fact, I'm calling 911 right now."

The idiots continued: "What do you mean your park?  What if we call 911 on you?", as I'm dialing.  "Yes, 911, this is Casie Pierce and I'd like to report that I've just been sexually propositioned by two men drinking and drugging in Parkdale Park....."  And off they went with a squeal.  Of course, when the police came, they told me, "now Casie, you can't be doing this sort of thing, going into the parks all alone at night, trying to get the bad guys out of there.  It's dangerous."

It's a neighborhood park, I have every right to be there, utilizing the park the way parks are supposed to be used.  I belong there!!  They don't!!  What am I supposed to report to my neighbors?   Don't use our parks because they are rife with drugs and prostitutes and it's too dangerous to enjoy???

So, here's the question- how often do perverts come to this little park, nestled in between three neighborhoods, to "look for action"?  Often enough to mistake me, a professional looking woman in a nice car, wearing an expensive suit, with a briefcase, a cell phone, a radio and a flashlight?  Does that image even remotely resemble a street hooker?

They are there, they are everywhere, it seems like no place is safe.  Well, unless you live in Garland or Mesquite-  Dallas is quite a convenient little place for you to go and get serviced by prostitutes and lap dancers, while your neighborhood stays safe and clean for you to raise your perfect little families, free from crime, drugs and perverts like yourself!

Ward politics is the Devil's key to the soul of the city council.  It is how some council members got themselves in trouble in the past.  It is the bait that will get others in trouble in the future. 4/6/8
