09/10/02 Subject: False
drug convictions may linger
(DMN Metropolitan Section 9/8/02)
The D.A.'s Office says it has no time to review old
cases for justice.
I thought the duty of any District Attorney was to see that JUSTICE WAS DONE!
If a CEO finds out that his staff made serious mistakes, such as in this
situation, he won't be the CEO for long if he doesn't direct those mistakes be
corrected. Sooner, not later.
I take offense at the DA's position that unless a prisoner tries to act
on their own cases there will be no action taken by the DA!
Budget restraints are no excuse. Staff problems are no excuse.
There is no excuse!
The responsibility lies with the DA. I can bet that if an
innocent family member of anyone working in the DA's office was convicted
under the circumstances of this issue, something would be done about it!
If this injustice isn't addressed NOW, I will be the first one
to encourage the voters of Dallas to vote in someone who cares about justice,
guilty or innocent, regardless of what it takes!
JUST DO IT! Anyone for a picket line? I will join
you.
