06/06/02  All Politicians deserve a fundraiser, but look who's hosting this one!

The Honorable Laura Miller has changed her mind and will not be "stoking the coals".  Why would she help Oakley raise money when he has voted against her on every major issue since she helped get him elected to the council?  He did not even endorse her in the Mayor's Race, and only went to her victory party after it was clear she had won.  All the TV stations ran film from the smoozing at both campaign watch parties -- and there was Ed at Tom Dunning's party early in the evening.

The program list reads more like a Democrat Party event than a city council fundraiser.  

YOU CAN IMAGINE THE SURPRISE OF SEEING KATHY NEALY'S NAME ON A FUNDRAISER FOR ED OAKLEY.

Kathy Nealy is the Queen of the Sleazy Mail-In Ballot Harvesting Scams.  Should Mark Housewright take seeing Kathy Nealy's name on the above list, among others, as an indication that he will be fighting for the dead vote gang?

Considering the tears and ranting and weeping during Ed Oakley's District 6 campaign when he thought mail-in ballot harvesters were going to steal the election from, it is very disappointing to have him now linked to Kathy Nealy.  Of course, there is much disappointment among a lot of us who worked so hard to get him elected.

He won on election day, not with mail-in ballots, but with walk-in voters in North Dallas.  The North Dallas precincts of District 6 elected Ed Oakley, but we never see him.  If it were not for Mitch Rasansky's townhall meetings, we would not ever see anyone from City Hall.
