Hello Council Members:
I remember the "Palladium" name. Was it not once a dance hall?
It appears that some of the current dancers there are named Perot, Hicks and FEW
Council Members.
I had recently heard that Dallas has no money to buy out some of the Cadillac
Heights families, nor could Dallas afford to increase pay for Public Safety
personnel.
Now, a group from New York wants the Dallas taxpayer to cough up at least
$43,000,000 to enable a few Dallas tycoons to benefit even more beyond the $125,000,000
handout provided for the Arena.
It would be "very" nice if Dallas could receive some GUARANTEED return
on investment if the dance continues.
I note that Dallas' first return on investment from the arena ($3,000,000) went
to purchase UNT at South Dallas property. That was cleverly put together
by Mr. Kirk and his Olympic friends.
All this goes on, and the taxpayer is now told his tax rate will likely
rise next year by a substantial amount.
Additionally, we sell large quantities of water to nearby communities and get
socked with water rate increases, water restrictions, and yes---don't get water
on the sidewalk.
I'm sure that as all the nonsense continues, the National Media will pick up on
it and broadcast an expos?on how not to operate a "business" or a
City.
I'm pleased to read that Mitchell Rasansky's business background enables him to
see and tell just what is going on and what is about to happen to "we the
taxpayer" if this Hicks / Perot shell game continues.
