GET OFF MY FRONT PORCH

I dropped my Council Person Veletta F. Lill an e-mail yesterday.  I advised her that after considering the ethics question regarding the recent Dunning mailer; what offended me the most, was the use of the Flag Room at City Hall, as the backdrop for her and other "business as usual" Council Person's and friends, endorsement of Mr. Dunning.

She wrote back that the room was open to any Citizen who wished to use it for public purposes.

Excuse me, that room is as close to a formal "meeting and greeting room," as this City has.  For those people to stand there trying to look all official, with the City Seal prominently displayed in front of them, is no different then them using their titles in the mailer.

As I explained to Mrs. Lill, I'd defend her right as a private citizen, to stand on her own front porch and endorse whom ever she pleases.  But get off my front porch.

The fact that she doesn't get it, is reason enough to begin a change at City Hall.  That is why I ask that everyone who voted for Laura on the 19th, please stay the course and do so again.  Only this time, bring a friend.
