09/04/03 "All For One
and One For All !"
Wednesday, September 03, 2003
In my humble opinion:
Those African American and other individuals in Dallas have the right to
peacefully protest the firing of former Chief Bolton. It is their
constitutional right of peaceable assembly and demonstration.
However, those who knowingly and freely actually carried posters with the
insensitive "Wet Back" words should apologize to the Hispanic
Community. And, those who put those particular signs and printed
those racial slurs should, too. They must be admonished by African American
Leaders in public before the cameras and quills of communication.
As this issue progresses, we may/will see and hear the events develop, then we
can distinguish fact from fiction and innuendo from truth. Let us not
foster kicking out a person because of race or ethnicity, as that is wrong.
Likewise, let us not keep a person in place just because of race or ethnicity to
appease some group, as that is likewise corrupt.
Let us hold true to our love of one another and of our heavenly Father and seek
"Justice not Just US!"
This is the USA not the "You Esse!"
In the meantime, we have the Dallas officer who apparently mislead the City of
Dallas on his education and work performance to be hired. The news has
covered his inadequacy and still he is on staff. Where is the justice when
a white man is held to a different set of rules and level of competence.
Respectfully submitted,
Lico Reyes, President - LULAC International
