08/11/03  Letter to Council regarding Chief Bolton

Below are my comments I sent to the Mayor and all council members today regarding the recent termination of a DPD officer who had a history of spousal abuse and was possibly associated with a homicide and was terminated over the weekend when Bolton found out the media was about to release this information.  If you feel as I, you may email the Mayor and all council member at the hyperlink below.

Dear Mayor and Council Members,
 
In hearing and reading the latest news on the termination of DPD officer Derrick Evans, it is quite apparent to me the DPD is out of  control.  

How much more has to happen under Terrell Bolton's leadership before you all decide to do the right thing?  That is to terminate Mr. Bolton.  

It is quite obvious to me he does not have a clue how to run his department.  I have continually over a course of years suggested this to what appears to be deaf ears to you all at City Hall.  

We taxpayers cannot continue to have a person of this incompetence running our police department.  Mr. Bolton must be removed from this position in order for our city to have some sense of integrity.  Please do what is right and ask for Mr. Bolton's resignation immediately.
