07/31/03  Letter to Mayor & Council

Dear Mayor and Council Members:

Steve Salazar is my council person, but I am sending all of you this e-mail since this is a city wide issue, not a council district issue.  

I am certain by now you all are just as concerned as my neighbors and I regarding the press report of our city being the number one crime city in the country.  

I cannot understand why some of you do not seem to understand there are two people who need to seek employment elsewhere.  They are Ted Benevides and Terrell Bolton.  

Bolton is directly responsible for making our city a safe place to live and Benevides is directly accountable for making certain the right person is police chief in this city.  Both have failed and cost us taxpayers MILLIONS through their bad management decisions.  

As I have stated time and again to most of you, in private business these type of people would be fired, but some of you seem to keep tolerating their incompetent behavior.  

You need to focus on what is good for us citizens and not what is good for you all politically.  These two men have proven time and again they have risen to their level of incompetence.  I ask that you all consider these suggestions seriously and do the right thing, that is terminate Ted Benevides and Terrell Bolton.
