7, 2003 (Dallas) - With the Dallas mayoral campaign over, former candidate and
city council member Mary Poss has accepted a settlement proposed by the Texas
Ethics Commission that puts an end to a complaint filed against her in
January, 2001 by www.Dallas.Org?s
Allen Gwinn.
As
part of her settlement with the Commission, Ms. Poss paid a $5,000 civil
penalty. According to the Texas Ethics Commission, this is only the second
time in the Commission?s history that a fine of this size has been levied
against a Texas politician.

I don't consider it eating crow, but the way Mary Poss ran -- or let her
campaign be run -- put her in the position of losing even if she ran
"unopposed"! What was that horse dung about?
Ward politics is the
Devil's key to the soul of the city council. It is how some
council members got themselves in trouble in the past. It is
the bait that will get others in trouble in the future. 4/6/8
