Elaine:
Since I volunteer at Dallas County Republican
Headquarters first and third Mondays of each month, I feel I must
comment on some questions and accusations being loosely tossed around
about the involvement of the party in the Dallas mayor's race and Dallas
city council races.
While volunteering at headquarters on Mondays, more
than once I was spoken to sternly to (yelled at) because I would not
tell an individual who called the county headquarters the party
affiliation of a candidate or why the party was not endorsing a certain
candidate.
One time the gentleman was so rude I forwarded the call to
Nate Crain's assistant, Christy Paine. We were instructed by Nate Crain,
Dallas County Republican Chairman, to direct individuals who called to
the candidate's email address or campaign headquarters.
Weeks prior to the election, a folder with various
candidates contact information was compiled to be used by the volunteer
receptionist should such inquires be made.
I feel Dallas County Republican Headquarters went
beyond the call of duty to make sure people were directed to the
candidates for information. It is unfortunate that volunteer
receptionists, such as myself, and other members of the staff put up
with verbal abuse prior to the election.
Before any other questions are raised or concerns are made
about the Dallas County Republican Party some people who volunteer and
who work there should be contacted.
That's is the way I see it from where I sat. And I had a
ring side seat! |

More than a few of our District 9 neighbors are waking up embarrassed
this week in realizing how foolish they were to have been tricked in
last weekend's run-off election by the "Pete Sessions
auto-dialer" barrage and the "anonymous gay mailer"
barrage...
"Just look at the monster we have created", one neighbor told
me...
Another: "We only have ourselves to blame"...
Yet one more: "This could take a while to clean up... best we start
now." |

Weaver:
I can no longer claim to be a staunch conservative, due to the
antics pulled by a congressman whom I have in the past supported so
loyally.
Congressman Sessions not only treated my family like we were
"lower class", but he truly disrespected two of Dallas'
largest Republican party supporters, Roxan & Randy Staff.
Dishonorable Pete Sessions doesn't even have the integrity to
apologize or make good of what he has done to our party. Tell me,
should we spend our money & time working for a more
"honest" local party.
Dishonorable Pete Sessions would move to his district, but
Highland Park has an ordinance against trailer houses. Get your
arrogant a** out of MY district, Pete.
Quote from Pete Sessions (May 31, 2003, at Lakewood Elementary, 9th
District) --"Hi, I'm Pete Sessions, your congressman.
Please support Gary Griffith."
First of all, Pete, you aren't my damn congressman, Dishonorable
Jeb "little boy" Hensarling is my congressman.
Second, isn't a U.S. congressman above the level of a measly city
council race? Why does a U.S. congressman install an elevated
billboard on Mockingbird Lane (against city code), at the expense
of Lakewood's beauty?
Looks like I voted for and supported a criminal for
Congress.
As for Gary Griffith....I have no respect for a "man"
who can't look me in the eye when I shake his hand.
Get ready, City Hall. The tensions are going to build.
There are racists and homophobes filling seats, and a political agenda
heating up that only certain "political-savvy" people are
aware of.
God help me....I feel like a dying dog with a fire in my empty
stomach.----Bill R. Weaver (a true Republican) |
