"Staff running from DISD," Sunday Letters.
What person checks the
facts before printing "Letters"? I must set the record straight.
I was not president of the
school board that brought in Bill Rojas. I was president of the board that
fired him 12 months later. I did not vote to give him a severance package.
He sued to try to get one. I was president of the board that brought in
Mike Moses.

to Dr. Moses. Edison's failure was not outpacing the achievement scores of
Dallas schools under Mike Moses. With a great superintendent, the district
did not need Edison.
I supported Community
Education Partners based on the superintendent's recommendation and the
lobbying efforts of Gary Griffith, a paid Community Education Partners
consultant. We now face each other in a runoff
My record and name are all
over the issues of fiscal restraint, control, monitoring and reform.

status quo. I can take the criticism, but do not distort the truth.
