03/03/03  Grateful Taxpayers Thank Betty Culbreath-Lister

Stan Aten:
As a Dallas County taxpayer, I wanted to thank you for your recent decision regarding the funding for Johnnie's Manor.
Your decision was an act of courage which is in short supply in government officials.
Mary Lou Montes Zijderveld:

Dear Ms. Culbreath,
Thank you for being a woman of integrity.
I appreciate that you are willing to stand by your principals & to do the right thing.
Hang in there because at the end of your career you will have no regrets when you look back.  God bless you.

Ralph Goin:

Dear Betty,
You don't know me, but after reading about the position you have taken, on DallasArena.com, I had to call and thank you.
The majority of citizens are what I call the "silent majority".  It's so great to see that you are certainly not a member of that group.
Many of us experience situations that finally get us to the point that "we are mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore"!

If that's where you are at, more power to you.  Please keep on keeping on!  If you ever need some additional support, please call upon me!
Avi Adelman:

Betty:
It's about time someone stood up to the Lipscomb Mafia!

When you are out kicking butt and need a watchdog, give us a holler!

Walter Pearson:

Thanks for doing the right thing concerning the Lipscomb family's involvement in the Johnnie's Manor leadership.  Mr. Lipscomb is one of several so-called leaders who feel that they are above the rules. It's refreshing to see that there are government officials who enforce those rules fairly.
Michael Perry:

Ms. Lister,
I spoke with you on the phone today to let you know I am behind you 110% with your decision to hold up funding Johnnie's Manor.
Al Lipscomb is the biggest old crook in town.  He just wants another piece of the pie.  If it was not for people like you he and his clan would have their hands in the pie again.
It is a shame people who need the services are being penalized for people like the Lipscomb clan.
Al is a convicted felon who was released on a technicality.  Thank God someone had sense not to spend millions to retry him again since he had already served a large portion of his term.  Al nor his clan MUST not be allowed to participate in any governmental activity.
Again, thanks for the good work and maintain your integrity though this whole ordeal.  In the end the people who need the services most will benefit from your actions.

Ward politics is the Devil's key to the soul of the city council.  It is how some council members got themselves in trouble in the past.  It is the bait that will get others in trouble in the future. 4/6/8
