02/14/03  There is a connection.

Last month when one of Jerry Jones' employees killed two Good Samaritans on Stemmons, it turned out that guy had been to Caligula Rizos latest sex club, The Lodge, and then left there for Silver City, a sex club on Stemmons.  In Sex Clubs, I said
There's a connection between depravity and disregard!

One early morning this week while I was still in my pajamas, sans makeup, slaving away at my PC before I left for work, my doorbell rang.  We are talking 7:30 a.m.  I had no idea my doorbell would even work at that hour of the morning, but it does.  Anyway, there was a fellow at the door with some paperwork on Silver City.

For a quick background, Silver City is a sex club located in a dry part of the city and operating as a private club.  To get their certificate of occupancy in January, 2000, an "Affidavit Concerning Revenue from On-premise Sale of Alcoholic Beverages" had to be submitted whereby the applicant stated:

"I swear and affirm that the establishment for which I seek a certificate of occupancy does or will derive less than 35 percent of the establishment's gross annual revenue from the on-premise sale of alcoholic beverages.
"I agree to supply the City of Dallas with any reasonable documentation requested to show the percentage of gross annual revenue derived from the on-premise sale of alcoholic beverages.
"I understand and agree that the City of Dallas may revoke any certificate of occupancy issued pursuant to my application and/or require me to obtain a specific use permit for the establishment if at any time this establishment should derive 35 percent or more of its gross annual revenue from the on-premise sale of alcoholic beverages.

To sell alcohol in a dry area under the umbrella of a private club, Silver City cannot earn more than 35% of its revenue from booze.  They have exceeded that percentage so many times, that the city should have yanked their CO the first year it was granted but City Hall has ignored the violations.  I don't know whether this is the fault of the City MisManager and his staff or the City Attorney.  It would  seem logical that monitoring Silver City's compliance with their agreement would be a City Manager function, not the City Attorney.  Regardless -- someone at City Hall should be responsible for reading the reports the sex clubs submit regarding booze sold on-premise.

If there is someone or assigned to do this, why hasn't Silver City lost its CO?

That arrogant jock who killed those two men after leaving Silver City might have been somewhere else than on Stemmons if Silver City were not allowed to operate illegally.  That place should have never been allowed to even open at that location.  How could anyone honestly think a sex club would sell 65% more food, etc. than booze?

So, we have an illegal operation going on across the street from the TABC's headquarters, but no one shuts them down?  How can that be?

With all the publicity from the football player leaving that sex club and going right out to plow into 3 men, 2 of whom died, why is Silver City still open?  They have never met the terms of their CO.  The city could shut them down tomorrow.

Instead, the city is investigating drug dealing at the same sorry operation, and another Silver City patron tries to use his car to run down people -- this time police officers.

Police conduct drug sting in
topless club parking lot

02/14/2003  From Staff Reports
Police fired shots at two suspects during an undercover drug deal in the parking lot of a Dallas topless club Thursday evening.
No one was injured and two men were taken into custody in the parking lot of the Silver City Cabaret, police said.
. . .  At one point, the suspects discovered the sting and they tried to run over the officers, who fired at the vehicle?s tires, . . . .

Of course, it involved the sex club.  What are we supposed to believe the bad guys just happen to pick Silver City's parking lot to sell drugs?

This city is out of control.  We have an inept City Manager and a incompetent Chief of Police who have this really sick thing going.  They owe their jobs to each other.  Ted Benavides only gets to keep his job because the African-American council members are protecting Terrell Bolton, and Terrell Bolton was hired by Benavides and would be out the door tomorrow under any new City Manager.

Terrell Bolton has all but destroyed the Dallas Police Department.  It's almost like a scene from Alice in Wonderland.  It would be funny if it weren't impacting our lives.  Can you imagine the morale of the officers who are trying to work under Bolton?  They know he was part of the Lipscomb/Rizos bribe deal that resulted in non-enforcement of city ordinances in sex clubs on NW Highway for several years.

There are several who think Bolton's has ordered a new level of non-enforcement.  LaBare (which Poss moved from her district to NW Hwy) is within 1000 feet of another sex club.  A female Bachman warrior went in one night recently to see what goes on there.  Lap dances just like the whores in Baby Dolls!

These sex clubs are absolutely a plague on this city.  They are centers for prostitution and drug dealing and bribing public officials and who knows what else -- but nothing good!

If Silver City is allowed to stay open another week after this latest episode, then we have proof that the fix is in.

There is a connection between that punk hauling his football-playing self out of Silver City into his car and driving off in such a state that he crossed two lanes of traffic to hit a wreck and kill 2 people.  There is a connection between drug dealing in the parking lot and what goes on inside Silver City.  There is a connection between law breaking and violating the basic restrictions of Silver City's right to do business.

Shut them down!  Save a life!

Ward politics is the Devil's key to the soul of the city council.  It is how some council members got themselves in trouble in the past.  It is the bait that will get others in trouble in the future. 4/6/8
