Beautification Tax? Give me a tax break instead!
The Dallas City Council is totally out of touch with reality. Oak Lawn is a waste land for renters. They can take their pick and name their price. I have had to lower rents to keep what few tenants I do have. Frankly, I don't give a darn about the parks. I want regular people back in Oak Lawn. Not everyone can afford a million $$$ townhome, Ms. Lill. Side note: The store room in my Oak Lawn apartment complex was broken into --everything stolen. How did they enter? They used a new method. They tore the wall out and walked through the wall. Did the police come? No. They issued a report number. Not only was my store room robbed and no police came, but I received a citation for a loose rail (which was 'written up' incorrectly for the wrong side of the building). No matter. I still have to go to court and plead my case. All that, not withstanding the fact that my apartments are the only property in that block with parking-lot lights burning --- the only building with lights burning in the last 30 years. Still, I get the citation. Thieves do not bother the dark lots---nothing to steal. Come on Laura Miller------enough is enough! Pauline Hill in Abilene, Taxes |
