Remember the one of the big arguments for changing our cars to CNG?

We were told it was so the City could help reduce emissions. Right?

So, imagine my surprise to find a brand new, 5-mpg, 2004 Hummer H2 sitting prominently in the driveway of our beloved City Councilmember Elba Garcia.

Granted, it may belong to her husband, but what kind of message is that?

Police and fire should put their lives on the line by driving blatantly underperforming vehicles while our "leaders" drive in the lap of overindulgent (not to mention pretentious) luxury?

Who buys into that logic? Not me.

It's just another example of the "let them eat cake" attitude at City Hall.

Then there's the incident of the officers' squad car catching fire as they pursue a car thief, who they had to catch on foot.
