03/12/04 Street Bum Victim needs help!
I am an attorney whose office is located virtually at the intersection of Oak
Lawn and Hall Streets. We have a huge homeless problem, and I
am looking for
help with the problem.
I mediated a case last week.
In
the middle of the afternoon,
one of the participants'
car
was
burglarized and
their
golf
clubs stolen.
My office has been burglarized once, and the police and the Mayor seem not to
care. I really need to talk to
someone who
knows
anything to do to get results other than "This is an area that we can't do
anything about." Would you post this for comments on your site?

JC:
Sir, you need to get with the program!
You are the problem NOT the street bums as you call them.
People like you who pursue
riches, comfort, control of your life make
the street people look bad in their pursuit of YOUR riches, comfort,
control of your life.
Through talk shows and Gallup polls, "Society"
tells us
not be be judgmental, not to be proud
of our heritage (if you are White), not to seek
a better life because that's the basis of
classism, which is the ruin of society.
Look how well societies without a middle class operate.
Haiti, for example.
Instead of getting Laura Miller involved in your problems,
give up your pursuits and become one of the chosen ones,
the street people. You will have no more taxes, police
protection, council members who you don't even vote for working their
butts off to give you and give you until they
can't give you anymore of other people's
wealth.
What a deal!!

The
street
people should not control the show over here. The police really do not want to
get involved because they say
Oak Lawn
is not a designated area for clean-up purposes. I
hope to have some dialog with other people who work or live in the area
to try to resolve this deplorable condition.
I was a
volunteer against the sales tax for the
Arena.

Editor's comments: I advised Mike to get in touch with the Oak Lawn
Committee and Mark Shekter (who offices on the same street) about this matter. If Our Mayor and the council do
locate her Day Spa for Street Bums at the Harry Hines site, it will be as big a
problem for Oak Lawn/Uptown/Turtle Creek as it will be for NW Dallas.
Street bums are roamers and nomads, who will wander back and forth from the
feeding stations Downtown to Our Mayor's Day Spa for Street Bums. Oak
Lawn/Uptown/Turtle Creek are in the direct path that Harry Hines will
become for roving bands of derelicts and God knows what else. sb
