02/25/04 - E-mail sent regarding stand on Patriot Act

Dear Councilman Griffith:

Thank you for your well spoken defense of the Patriot Act.  I appreciate your courage.  It would have been easy to sit there quietly and only vote, but you spoke out and spoke up.

I am convinced that those who are speaking against the Patriot Act are anti-American and certainly anti-Semitic.  You nailed it regarding the connection to those coming back for an anti-Israel proclamation.

I attended a recent debate with Mark Davis and an SMU professor on the pro-war side and Bob Ray Sanders and an Iraqi woman on the anti-war side.  Because the professor was stealing the show, the pacifists in the crowd started calling him a "Jew Warmonger".  Bob Ray grinned at them.  The Professor looked out the audience and said "I am not Jewish".  What did his ethnicity have to do with anything?  Nothing, but the pacifists exposed their bigotry and anti-Semitic bias.

It is ironic that the limousine liberals and African-Americans on the council are finally showing their true attitude toward Jews and Israel when American Jews have been so supportive of liberal causes, Democrat candidates and minority rights.
