02/19/04 Trinity Project Faux-Community Meeting

Thank you for the fyi regarding the Tuesday evening NTTA meeting at City Hall.

I only asked one question during the meeting, and that was:

"Who is your customer?"

Their answer was that research showed there would be 100,000 cars on this boondoggle every day.

I asked again. "Who is your customer?"

This time I got a rather vague answer about the people on the south side of downtown, who work along the I-35/Stemmons Corridor, being able it get to places they work, like Parkland Hospital faster. I think they also said something about people from the north side getting into downtown. Their answer was hard to follow.

The proposed rout of this toll road is from the 183/I-35 split (just south of some of your favorite night clubs at the north end) to Hwy 175 to the south.

It seems strange that an expressway that is supposed to relieve congestion along the I-35 Stemmons Corridor and the I-35/I-30 Mixmaster doesn't put one car onto either I-35 South, or I-30 East or West.

If I ever move to Gun Barrel City, I'm really going to use the heck out of that bypass when I go north to, will I'm not sure where I'll be going, but I'm sure I'll be using it...
