01/17/04  A Murder in Middle School ---

Thanks for sending me this thought provoking commentary by Jorge Torres, Jr.   I appreciate his taking the time to write it.

Keeping in mind the idea of "doing something" not necessarily directly for or with the families involved with this tragedy, but for the community in general.  We're hoping to revamp and bring new life to our Advisory Board.  We would like for this board to be one of action -- one that serves as the eyes and ears of the community for this Health Center.

Parkland's deHaro-Saldviar Health Center and the Pediatric Primary Care Center (PPCC) are looking for representatives from the Arcadia Park community and the Bachman area to have their voice heard as members of the board.  The first meeting of the year will be Wednesday, January 21 at Noon at the deHaro-Saldivar Health Center, 1400 North Westmoreland Road, Dallas 75211.  We know that both areas are lacking in services, especially health related services.

If you or someone you know may be interested in representing Arcadia Park or Bachman on this board, please feel free to invite them to attend the meeting.  At this meeting we will determine what goals we would like to implement this year, and I would very much like to see Arcadia Park and Bachman taking advantage of the resources available.
