WE
WON THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON HARRY HINES.
Tuesday
morning
in Austin,
God helped
Northwest Dallas.
The
money was approved for the Intergenerational Affordable Housing at the old hotel
(Harry Hines & Mockingbird)
-- Providence at Mockingbird.
This
$20
million project will be the first of its kind in
Texas --
housing where senior citizens and young families live near each other. We look
forward to the completion of this project. Several of us feel that it will
inspire other developers to invest around the NW area that desperately needs it.
Thank you to
each of you who sent letters, called and prayed. Without the joint effort of
EVERYBODY,
it
would not have happened. This is one more property that we do not have to worry
about.
I thank God that in spite of
Senator Royce West's
influence,
what
the surrounding
neighborhoods wanted
prevailed over his agenda.
I was unable to attend the
last hearing,
but
Wilma Avalos called after the hearing to
report
the project had been approved 100%.
She said
Senator West
was still lobbying against
the project up to the
last minute.
Still not sure WHY he is so against this project. Time will tell.
