06/06/05   Thank you District 8 voters!

Thank you to all of the people who voted in District 8.

You  voted to "keep District 8 on the move", and we are appreciative.

Thank you to those in our campaign who worked all day for 2-3 weeks knocking on doors, manning polls and making phone calls.

Old Al is not a victim of dirty politics, as he says on television.  In fact, he is a perpetrator of such.

This is what happened to ME at the polling place which I manned in Pleasant Grove on Saturday:

* I was threatened with arrest bythe election judge (who was brought in from another area at the last minute) if I pushed Fantroy cards in a parking lot which was more than 100 feet from the poll.

*I was continually harassed by the same election judge until I was pushing cards at the curb, which was 1,000 feet from the polling place.

*I experienced verbal harassment from the election judge and his daughter.

*Our wood-stake ground signs were tossed into the dumpster in broad daylight. Of course, the Lipscomb signs weren't a problem for this guy until our Fantroy signs were posted.

So, don't believe what you hear Old Al saying on the news.  Al was simply the victim of voters with good memories.

Mr. Fantroy showed class and dignity during the entire race.  When we campaigned on only the issues, Old Al didn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

On Saturday night, the various stations only asked questions about Lipscomb and tried to bait Mr. Fantroy into a war of words.  They asked nothing about the work that's being made or our plans for the future.  All of them camped out on our front lawn like an episode of Springer or Access Hollywood.I openly wonder if they'll show up in the same fashion when the new UNT School is turning out sharp young minds and creating leaders who will change Southern Dallas.

As a bonus, we got to sweep out more than Old Al when the voters showed that Marvin Crenshaw, Sandra Crenshaw, Roy Williams and other Lipscomb lackeys no longer have any pull in Southern Dallas. Their endorsements and bullying meant squat.  Their time is over.

T
his is a new day, and we are moving forward.  Look forward to real jobs, real economic development and a real future for our residents.

The good guy won for once in this City.  I thank the voters of District 8 for letting the progress continue.

Ward politics is the Devil's key to the soul of the city council.  It is how some council members got themselves in trouble in the past.  It is the bait that will get others in trouble in the future. 4/6/8
