03/15/05  Comments on Strong Mayor Proposition

     The Strong Mayor proposition is waking people up to take a stand on our form of city government.  My concern is that many educated people are confused about the real issue in this matter.  TOTAL CONTROL by an elite few is what will happen should this proposition pass. 

     For years, I have felt frustrated with some City Council members but not to the degree of giving up on our form of city government.  Read this proposition and see how we would have no voice because a council person would be like a puppet.  Do you want this?

     Dallas has always needed a strong mayor.  Miller is one now.  She knows how to get things done.  But will she be our mayor for the next 20 or 50 years? 

     Dallas has a great future but only if we all have a voice. 

    Please carefully read the Blackwood proposal because we all will live to regret it should it pass.  Educate yourself on this and VOTE. 

    Speaking for myself, I do not want an elite dictatorship running Dallas.  I want equal representation by 14 City Council members.  Each representing their constituents and their concerns. 

   Too much power given to one person is a dangerous.  VOTE NO to the Strong Mayor Proposition.
