02/28/05  Blackwood Gang is trotting out Old Al!

Back in January, DallasArena.com (aka Sharon Boyd) surmised that the Park Cities Cabal who want to steal our City Hall are the people who put up Old Al Lipscomb (mean old Black man) to go to City Hall and compare Mayor Miller (pretty persecuted White lady) to Hitler.  (See "Who's paying Old Al?")

I believe Old Al was monetarily compensated for his performance at City Hall because the Confessed and Convicted Bribe-taker read from a typed (double-space) speech, rather than speaking extemporaneously.  Those of us who have been watching his schizophrenic acts over the years have not seen him need to read his racist rantings before.  Old is no great intellect, but he's capable of making insulting remarks to Laura Miller without a typed speech.

African-American leaders and South Dallas community leaders overwhelmingly oppose the Blackwood scam.  They understand the election will be won or lost in North Dallas, and making Laura Miller a victim of the wrath of Old Al would help her grab power via the strong arm mayor campaign.  They thought Old Al had agreed to keep a lid on it (not very smart of them to count on Old Al to keep his word).  Keeping Old Al muzzled goes against Belo's plans to win Blackwood by making it a White vs. Black issue.

Last week in one of Emily Ramshaw's excellent DMN pieces, there were two pictures -- one, the debaters and two, a large picture of Old Al in the audience.  A not so subtle attempt to remind White voters in North Dallas that mean Old Al Lipscomb was looming out there.

That picture was too subtle for Belo's goal of a victorious Blackwood scam.  Only insiders like us got the message.

There's very little that Old Al does of his own volition.  The Convicted and Confessed Bribe-taker has announced he's a candidate for the city council again -- against Councilman James Fantroy.

... At a meeting with The Dallas Morning News editorial board and strong-mayor advocate Beth Ann Blackwood on Thursday, Ms. Miller said the same pollsters that predicted her mayoral win believe voters will approve the strong mayor measure by a 14-point spread.
"The only weak area is in the African-American community," she said. "But north of downtown, [the strong-mayor referendum] is gangbusters."
... Lipscomb for council?
   He's back ... maybe.
One of Dallas' most outspoken political figures, former City Council member Al Lipscomb, registered a campaign treasurer with the city secretary's office Friday. Such a step is the precursor to formalizing a candidacy, which Mr. Lipscomb has not done. Candidates have until March 7 to officially file for the May 7 election.
Mr. Lipscomb wrote on his treasurer form that he'd seek office in District 8, which council member James Fantroy, who is running for re-election, now occupies. A notable civil rights leader, Mr. Lipscomb most recently made news in January when he compared Ms. Miller to Adolf Hitler. Several years ago, Mr. Lipscomb was convicted on a federal bribery charge, which was later overturned. He now sits on the Dallas Citizens Police Review Board. ...

I want to make a short comment about the Mayor's pollsters.  They are the "same pollsters that predicted" I would beat Steve Salazar, and he beat me 2-1.

Don't you find it interesting that she would remind North Dallas voters the African-American community is against Blackwood, but "north of Downtown" is for it?  Claiming that North Dallas is for it is wishful thinking, and she knows it.

It would look like desperation on the part of the Park Cities Cabal to trot out Old Al for public office again, if he wasn't one of their hired help.  This man has been the hired hand of the Park Cities Cabal ever since he waited tables in their country clubs.  Thirty years ago, when Our Downtown Betters (the ODB) wanted to control the "coloreds" who were making noises of demonstrations and boycotts, they hired Old Al to grab the limelight and keep the young radicals under control.

Old Al Lipscomb sold women and sold drugs.  He didn't dabble in either depravity.  He was a FULL-FLEDGED PIMP.  He was a FULL-FLEDGED DRUG DEALER.  He was imprisoned in California.  Like the Dallas County policy, he was allowed to serve his time in a California county jail with less amenities, but shorter time served than had he served his sentence in prison.

Old Al Lipscomb took bribes from an owner of a taxi company to do things at City Hall that caused great hardship to cab drivers, most of whom were hard-working minorities.

Old Al Lipscomb took a pitifully small bribe from a sex club operator to pull strings to keep police officers from enforcing city ordinances in sex clubs on Northwest Highway at Bachman Lake.  The harm his actions caused the Bachman-NW Highway community are incalculable.

It is ironic that the people who want to turn over all power at City Hall to Mayor Miller are the same people who will finance Old Al's campaign.  He hates Miller, almost as much as he loves publicity.

It's so telling that the people who want to turn Dallas citizens into serfs to the landed gentry of the Park Cities are the same people who will make it possible for a Convicted and Confessed Bribe-Taker to even have a chance of returning to the council horse show.

Old Al Lipscomb is a man who sold women, a man who sold drugs, a man who sold his soul.

We know who and what is Old Al Lipscomb.  I guarantee you the Blackwood Cabal is behind his hubris of seeking public office when his rightful place when he belongs in the ashes of shame.

Ward politics is the Devil's key to the soul of the city council.  It is how some council members got themselves in trouble in the past.  It is the bait that will get others in trouble in the future. 4/6/8
