The City Of Dallas is about to provide FREE shuttle service to and from Deep
Ellum City operated parking lots within the core of Dallas. UNBELIEVABLE that
City money will be utilized to "ferry" would-be party goers (possibly drunks) to
and from a night of partying in Deep Ellum.
In New York, and other major cities, TAXI CABS are utilized to ferry patrons
around to the bars and clubs (and the police help load them up)-- but in
Dallas-- free rides on the City. The drivers of the shuttles had better be ready
for some rowdy drunks as passengers (perhaps have a cage around them for
protection).
You won't catch very many sane citizens on such "party ferries". Parking
shortages and the threat of thugs attacking and robbing are reasons why Deep
Ellum is dying --not the need for shuttle buses.
This is just another example of socialized city management of a subsidized
entertainment district. How much more of this nonsense is forthcoming?

A group of us go to El Fenix on the Dallas side of Addison
(South of Belt Line) once each week.
Everyone up in our district has
heard of the free shuttle service from
downtown to the "Club" districts. We are all wondering who to call for
the free Shuttle Service provided by the City so we can take a safe ride
to our favorite eating places in North
Dallas.
As per plan, we will use the
shuttle to return to our North Dallas
residences after a nice dinner.
Would it be the Mayor
who should be called? The Shuttle appears to
be within her "at large" domain.
