04/21/06 DISD
discriminates against non-Spanish speaking teachers.
This is a response to the commentary you had
about the woman who
is being displaced from her counselor's
job with DISD because she doesn't speak Spanish.
Two years ago after 20 years of service teaching kindergarten within the
district, I was also told I
would be displaced to make room for an all bilingual kindergarten.
I was told I would be teaching a new grade level (unsure of what that would be);
therefore, I just quit and got a job teaching in
Garland ISD.
I was so upset and mad at how DISD treats their long-time
employees with great evaluations and proven teaching methods that I felt I had
no other option than to quit.
It is truly something I thought I would never see in my lifetime.
You and DallasArena.com have been great resources
for most people in the metroplex.
Thanks,
Alison
