04/20/06  American Inn Hot Sheet Motel - Closing Date is Set

History was made April 19, 2006 at Dallas City Hall.
 
The American Inn at 4538 Scyene (down the street from Fair Park) will be no more.

On April 19, 2006, the Board of Adjustments set a final date for the motel to close PERMANENTLY.  That date is May 9th, less than 3 weeks away.
 
Once and for all, the neighborhood will be rid of an eyesore and dangerous place that has been operated by people who have no respect for the community.
 
We would like to thank Mrs. Willie Mae Coleman and the Bertrand Neighborhood Association, Rev. Don Parrish and the True Lee Baptist Church, and the Board of Adjustment for their support.

We also want to thank many in the community who have offered their support on this mission that we have undertaken. 
 
As previously promised, this is the first of many motels that will be removed from the Southern Sector.  We hope to announce our next target in the coming weeks.
