04/17/06 My Concern about Amnesty
We have some neighbors who moved in a couple
years ago. They have threatened our child,
shot our cat, smoke pot, speed up and down our street, throw their
beer bottles, cans and trash in our yard.
When I called the police,
nothing happens other than being told to just keep calling.
Most of the time they don't bother to even come out for hours. We have become prisoners in our own home. Music shakes our walls and windows at all hours of the day and night. We need regular patrols in our neighborhood. It doesn't happen.
There are two houses on this one piece of
property, 3-4 families living there with 8 new vehicles. My
husband watched one of the kids change the date on their temporary license
plate because it was out of date. My folks
would have killed us if we had even thought of doing
that.
My drive is their turn around area, and the front of our house is their parking lot. Around the corner and down that street is a house with 15 cars. If the Fire Dept. needs to come down our street, they will need to plow through all the cars.
Anyone who wants to come to this country is
welcome. Just do it legally. If they break
the law to come the wrong way, why shouldn't they be arrested the same way I
would be if I broke the law? What messages are we
sending when we say come on, break the law and we will forgive you and pay
you to do it?
John Wayne
did a song that talks about hyphenated
Americans. It only divides us.
We are all Americans, NOT Mexican-American,
Italian-American, African-American or
Anglo-American.
Why do we still need to divide ourselves? Why can't we all become one, support each other and get along? If you ask the kids who were protesting why they were there, most would not know. It was a way of getting out of school. In my day, we would be suspended or get detention for a stunt like that. Kids today can miss over a 100 days of school before truancy gets involved. Where are the parents in all this? Don't they care? They say they want their kids to receive a good education but do not follow through to be sure they get it and make good use of the FREE Education. I just do not understand this.
If I went to live in
Germany or Mexico, it would be a slap in the face not to learn
their language.
