DallasArena.com is primarily about local politics,
whether City Council, DISD or even County. When current and former elected
officials started to commend school kids for being politically savy when they
picked Monday (a school day) as a "slow news day" for their demonstration, I
could not ignore the issue.
For me, the only reason a school kid should not be in school is because they are
sick, there's a death in the family or the weather is so bad it's not safe for
them to be out.
Kids can make political statements if their parents allow that activity, but not
during school hours.
So, I'm leaving the immigration debate to others. Here are some
