02/20/06 Why would you
vote for this guy when he lies on the campaign trail?
Craig Watkins was an intern in the Tarrant County
DA's office. He was not an intern prosecutor as his flyer claims, and
certainly not a prosecutor with the Tarrant County DA's office as he claimed in
a recent debate.
As Anonymouse says:
The CEO of
Radio Shack has been caught lying on his resume, and
it is making big waves. Surely a DA
candidate is as important as a company CEO...
At the Candidate Forum hosted by Northeast Chamber of
Commerce on Tuesday, February 14, Craig Watkins,
candidate for the Democrat's nominee as District
Attorney of Dallas County, stated:
"I
started my legal career as a prosecutor with the
Tarrant County District Attorney's office."
In his printed literature, available at the same
forum, he lists:
"Professional
Experience: Assistant District Attorney Tarrant
County."
A call to the Tarrant County District Attorney's
Office will confirm Watkins was merely a student
intern in that office, while he was in law school.
Watkins never served as a prosecutor at the Tarrant
County District Attorney's Office, nor did he serve as
an Assistant District Attorney in Tarrant County.
These are false claims.
The District Attorney of Dallas County is the chief
prosecutor and the chief law enforcement office for
the county. This calls into question his integrity,
which surely is an important character trait for such
a position.
