Dallas LULAC Council 4496 calls upon all DISD Board Trustees to maintain, control and strengthen their board policy governing residency status for executive  level employees of the Dallas (DISD) Independent School District.

Our council firmly believes maintaining a strong residency policy for the DISD sends a positive message to every DISD taxpayer indicating DISD executive level personnel truly have invested themselves into the communities they serve.

As trustee Ron Price has stated, ?What is that saying to the taxpayer? ?I don?t mind making a salary off your tax money, but I don?t want to live in your city.?"

Our council also endorses trustee Dr. Lew Blackburn?s position of only allowing board approval for allowing or granting waivers to DISD residency requirements.
