Re:
DallasObserver's Jim Schutze
Scapegoat
Jim
Schutze has an excellent article.
I've asked it
before, I'll ask it again:
When will the DISD School Board demand that Dr. Hinojosa take
every step available to immediately begin the
process to recoup as much as possible of the
millions of DISD taxpayer money stolen by DISD employees with their DISD
issued credit card?
Dr. Hinojosa's treatment of
Sherri Brokaw mirrors the exact same treatment given to the initial DISD
whistleblower staffer (Grace Mckay) at Preston Hollow Elementary School who
sent Dr. Hinojosa a certified letter detailing the segregation of Hispanic
and black students there. The
treatment given to Mrs. McKay was simply not renew her teaching contract
while giving the Preston Hollow Elementary School principal who initiated
the segregation practices a reassignment to another position within the DISD.
Ironically, Dr. Hinojosa himself proudly
said at a meeting with
representatives of Dallas LULAC Council 4496 several months ago in
his office that the DISD was not held accountable in federal court on this
matter and that only the Preston Hollow principal
was held accountable for her actions. He assured us
the former Preston Hollow principal would be dealt with as soon as
the end of the legal process of DISD's involvement in the federal court
action. So much for Dr. Hinojosa's word.
Why would Dr.
Hinojosa reassign the Preston Hollow Elementary School principal who was
found GUILTY in a FEDERAL COURT of segregating DISD Hispanic and black
students and then stand silent when the teaching contract for the
whistleblower was not renewed?
Shades of Sherri Brokaw here, get the picture? Dr. Hinojosa is no friend to
Dallas' Hispanic community.
As for the DISD fraud credit
card scandal, hundreds of DISD employees who stole from DISD taxpayers and
DISD children are still working at DISD. One would think at least one DISD
school board trustee would have the cojones to at least demand
that those thieves repay
the money they stole.
I agree with Sharon Boyd. Dr.
Hinojosa is a front man for so much of the wrong at DISD.
Only his expedited exit would better serve the DISD at this time.
As for the DISD residency
issue, anyone in the media wondering what the new de-layering reorganization
along with new job titles have done for the DISD board's residency policy?
Bet the number of top staffers at DISD who used to
be under the district's residency policy have
either drastically reduced or simply vanished due to DISD's de-layering
reorganization.
Better yet, think anyone on the DISD school board is in a hurry to
bring clarity to this issue now that the de-layering organization is
complete?
