In
reading the latest on the proposed buyout of TXU, the
buyers plan to DROP 8 of the
11 proposed coal generation plants in
view of all the protests. WELL -- isn't
that just rosy?
Where do the legislators and the John "Q's" expect to get electricity
from? California? |
If Texas thinks it has
a water shortage, just wait until businesses and residents are asked to REDUCE
consumption of electricity during peak hours of each Summer day.
It will be like this -- "No watering from 10 A.M till 6
P.M. and cut electricity consumption by 50% during the same periods".
At the same time,
all the utility restrictions are put into place, the NAFTA Highway (and all its
smoke puffing trucks) will float through Dallas, and
construction equipment will be puffing out diesel smoke Downtown
as the "Calatrava" Bridges become reality.
Soon, 80,000 sports enthusiasts will be motoring
between Dallas and Arlington in their SUV's to watch special events in the area
at Ranger Stadium, the "Jerry Bowl". Tens of
thousands will motor to the AA Center and Fair Park.
It's a good thing that the EPA has not noticed the black haze which lingers over
DFW Airport 365 days per year. They might
require electric airplanes. Hopefully, fans
won't mind watching football, baseball, basketball, etc. in un-airconditioned
and darkened venues.
