12/30/8 Not likely,
unless you're a criminal in Dallas County.
When The Dallas
Managed News announced its pick for
Texan of the Year, it brought back memories of the not so great years of Atlanta
envy among Our Downtown Betters (the ODB). That's how we wound up
with Con Jerk/Ron Kirk as our Mayor, our first Black Mayor, who was endorsed by
The Dallas Managed News.
We are about to have our first Black President, who was not endorsed by
The Dallas Managed News.
Now, we have our first Black District Attorney, our first former Bail Bondsman
District Attorney, who was not endorsed by The
Dallas Managed News. Being the
never hip and lately dollar short publication that it is (as shaped by its
pitiful Editorial Board), the DMN's
Editorial Board picked an ex-Bail Bondsman as their Texan of the Year.
That might be impressive if anyone actually subscribed to the
DMN anymore.
Do you know what the Arizona Flower Child (DMN's Keven Ann Willey)
told WBAP was their (her) rationale for picking our Hug a Thug DA? She
says it was because he got so much publicity for Dallas. This guy is a
scandal waiting to happen. Wonder if she's going to like the publicity he
gets for Dallas then.
Our Hug a Thug DA has an affinity for criminals. Without their
uncivilized behavior, how would a bail bondsman support himself? Oh, I
forget -- he also had a title business on the side. The same title company
that requires a license to practice law but is now run by his wife, who doesn't
have a law degree, much less a license to practice law. Our Hug a Thug DA
does have a license to practice law, but he is prohibited by state law from using his law
license in private practice while he holds the office of District Attorney.
Paraphrasing Leona Helmsley, only the little people have to follow the law.
Our Hug a Thug DA is above the law, because what elected official in this state
has the balls to call him out and demand the Attorney General take action?
To designate our Hug a Thug DA as Texan of the year, is the ultimate insult to
law abiding Texans in general and victims of crime in particular.
If your home or car hasn't been hit by a thief yet and you live in Dallas
County, just wait a while. One of our Hug a Thug DA's early released or
non-prosecuted criminals will get around to you, too. It is impossible for
police officers in any Dallas County city to keep up with crime when our Hug a Thug
DA's primary concern is for criminals not the victims of criminals.
I do not have the resources or time to do the research, and no local reporters
seem inclined to do the research, to see just how many of the "wrongfully
convicted" our Hug a Thug DA has gotten released had crime free records before
one of our mean old White former DA's lied to a racist jury to get him
"wrongfully convicted".
God knows, the DMN
will not allow one of their few remaining reporters
to investigate the backgrounds of the "wrongfully convicted" who our Hug a Thug
DA has put back into our neighborhoods.
Fox 4 has done a few expos? on our Hug a Thug DA operating a title company
illegally while he holds elected office. Either he's breaking state law,
or his wife is breaking state law -- but only Fox 4 has bothered to inform the
public.
I want to be optimistic about 2009. It cannot be worse than 2008.
The Cowboys will be better in 2009. They cannot be worse than in 2008.
The voters will be just as stupid in 2009. They have proven in the past
two years that they can be trusted to vote against their own best interest.
One thing for sure, The Dallas Managed News
will get worse in 2009 and lose even more readers.
Happy New Year! Bah! Humbug!
