Bozo DA rethinks his
march on Commissioner Price.
Tom McGregor at
DallasBlog.com is doing a great job keeping us tuned
into the doings at the Commissioners Court and the
misdoings by our Bail Bondsman DA. Last week
he broke this little bombshell:
|
Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins has declared war
against County Commissioner John Wiley Price.
The Dallas Blog has obtained information from credible sources that
Watkins? office has passed an e-mail to all employees at the d.a.?s
office. He is demanding that they march together (400+ employees) on
Tuesday on Commerce Street in front of the Dallas County Records
Building.
It says he wants to ?support the cause of defending the positions
that the Commissioners? Court wants cut.? (Commissioner Price has
publicly urged Watkins to make deeper cuts.)
Apparently, Terri Moore is asking all employees to wear blue on the
day of the march. She has told employees to ask their judges if they
can leave work in order to participate in the march. Some employees
at the district attorney?s office fear that if they don?t join the
march on Tuesday then they risk getting fired. |

The Dallas Blog has just obtained a copy of an e-mail from the
office of Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins. It was
forwarded to all his employees. As reported earlier today, D.A.
Watkins wants to lead a march against the County Commissioners on
Tuesday. We noted that this is a fight against Dallas County
Commissioner John Wiley Price, since Price had made numerous public
comments asking for Watkins to make deeper budget cuts.
Below is a copy and paste of the E-mail message:
Hi Everybody:
The boss is trying to save your job. In case you haven't heard
Commissioner's Court is threatening to eliminate lawyer positions!
We need to show the commissioners and the community the faces of
the hardworking prosecutors that keep
Dallas county safe from
criminals.
As a show of importance we will all meet on the courthouse steps and
walk to commissioner's court. Court starts at 9:00 a.m. and is
usually over by 11:00. Ask your
Judges for understanding since the loss of prosecutors will impact
them as well. See if you can leave
one prosecutor covering the court while you are out.
Wear blue! See you there. |
Use
the link to read the comments. The Watkins
backers are in various stages of illiteracy and in a
total state of racial thinking, which puts them in
the same mentality as our Bozo DA.

I may have become a JWP groupie. I don't have
to personally like a politician to appreciate a good
job being done. Not that I dislike Commissioner
Price. Actually, I very much appreciate what he does to
protect my tax dollars. He understands there
is a bottom to the well of what government can take
from taxpayers. He understands our local
economy is based on the disposable income local
taxpayers are left to spend in the community. |

Ralph G:
The first time I met the now Bozo
DA was when I was campaigning for Laura Miller's first run for
Mayor. I went from poll place to poll
place in South Dallas. I really
stuck out and got very nasty comments from
some voters.
I saw Watkins passing out his
campaign literature in
his first (unsuccessful) run for
DA. He was not impressive, appeared lazy
and without the stature of someone
qualified for that office. He sat on a wall, trying to pass out his
info with no enthusiasm, not even standing
up!
How many times
did he take the bar before passing? I would be surprised if
it was on the first time!

As a private bail bondsman, Craig Watkins did not
always find it convenient to pay his taxes or his
debts. Even with the steady income of his gig
as the criminals' favorite DA, Watkins apparently is
still short of cash. Before he left for his
studies at Harvard, former Fox 4 reporter Paul
Adrian had this bombshell:
A local
lawmaker says taxpayers deserve answers from Dallas
County District Attorney Craig Watkins. Fox 4 asked
Watkins to explain his private business dealings and
whether they involve possible conflicts of interest.
When
Craig Watkins took office, he promised a new day for
Dallas County. He ran on the philosophy of being
?tough? but ?smart on crime? and has made a name for
himself by freeing the wrongly convicted. Without
question, Watkins is unique. Instead of having a
prosecutor?s background, he was a defense attorney
based near Fair Park in Dallas.
In addition to practicing
law out of his office on Martin Luther King Jr.
Blvd, Watkins was also a bail bondsman, a mortgage
broker, and an escrow officer and fee attorney for a
title company he owned.
Watkins still seems to
spend a considerable amount of time at his private
business office.
The same
month Watkins became Dallas County District
Attorney, the
Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending
confirms, he let his mortgage broker?s license
expire and county records show he
gave up his bail bond business.
But
Watkins did not give up his escrow officer?s
license. In fact,
Watkins
renewed that license in October of 2007... a
decision that?s raising eyebrows. ...
So, we
contacted a top executive at Fidelity National
Title, the agency Watkins? title business is
associated with, to find out what he does for them.
A FNT official wrote back that Watkins is a ?fee
attorney? for the company ...
|
Somebody is breaking the law -- Mrs. DA or Bozo DA.
Is she practicing law without a license by operating
the title company without an attorney? Or is
the Bozo DA violating state law that prohibits
district attorneys from practicing law privately?
Actually, it looks like both of them are breaking
the law. What a shocker!
But back to the Bozo DA challenging Commissioner
Price. Apparently, he has thought better of
ordering his staff to march on the Commissioners'
Court:
|
Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins vowed last Friday that
he would fight tooth and nail against drastic budget cuts at his
office as proposed by the Dallas County Commissioners? Court. He
even pledged to lead a protest march this morning to defend his
employees from facing layoffs. He also prepared to give a speech in
support of his coworkers at the public hearing of the Commissioners?
Court.
Nonetheless, D.A. Watkins buckled under the pressure at the
Commissioners? Court. Yesterday, he canceled the protest march, and
when he stood behind the podium, he was told by the County
Commissioners that he must wait until next week to give his speech.
Without saying one word of complaint, he walked away and out into
the lobby to hold a press conference. As a crowd followed him,
Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez could be overheard saying, ?That
was too easy.? |
Wonder how many laws the DA broke trying to force
the lawyers on his staff to march on the
Commissioners' Court? Guess he's figuring out
how things work at the County. Someone who
didn't bother to pay his bills or his taxes while he
was in practice is not going to immediately
understand how budgets work. He must be quite
confused about being expected to confine his
expenditures to a certain amount.
It's interesting that most of the media are ignoring
the numerous screw-ups of this DA. Is anyone
going to slap his hand?
